Matt. 6:9 (ESV) "Pray then like this":

Matt. 6:9 (NLT) Our Father in heaven. According to this pattern that Jesus gives us, prayer is to be addressed not to Him (Jesus) , but to God the Father, thus acknowledging God’s  sovereignty over creation.
May Your name be kept holy . Our prayers should begin with worship as we ascribe praise and honor to God who is most worthy of it.
6:10 May Your Kingdom come soon. Following our worship, our focus is on placing His interests first by praying for the progress of His cause. We should pray particularly for the day when our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, will return to set up His kingdom and righteous reign on earth.
May Your will be done We then acknowledge God’s knowledge of what is best and surrender our will to His will. We also express a desire to see His will recognized all over the world.
on earth, as it is in heaven. We then reiterate three previous appeals. The worship of God, God’s sovereign rule, and the performance of His will, all a reality of heaven. We pray that these conditions may become present realities on earth as they are in heaven.
6:11 Give us today the food we need, Having placed God's interests first, we now present our own needs. Acknowledging our reliance on God, we appeal for daily spiritual and physical food.
6:12 and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
We then ask for parental forgiveness which is necessary for maintaining fellowship with our Father. This has nothing to do with judicial forgiveness from the penalty of sin because such forgiveness has already been obtained by faith in the Son of God. It’s a conscious awareness that if I am not willing to forgive those who wrong me, I cannot expect to be in fellowship with my Father who has freely forgiven me for all my wrongdoings.
6:13 And don't let us yield to temptation, While this appeal may seem to be a contradiction of James 1:13, which states that God never tempts anyone, God does, however let His people to be tested and tried. This appeal states a healthy mistrust of our own capability to refuse to give in to temptations or to stand firm under trials. Its a recognition of our need for total reliance on the Lord for help and protection.
but rescue us from the evil one. This prayer is the heartfelt cry of all who frantically desire to be kept back from sin by God’s power. It’s a daily plea for deliverance from the power of sin and Satan in one's life.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
In closing we acknowledge God’s reign, dominion and control over all things and that only God has all power to accomplish what is requested with all the honor and praise to Him.
                    A Morning Prayer
                        By Ryan Pearce

I wrote this prayer and I want to share it. It is a good prayer to whisper in the morning as you start your day. Think about the words as you say it.

Dear heavenly Father may Your will go before me today,
ever leading, showing me Your way.

Open my eyes that I may see
any opportunity put before me,
to give any glory to Your name
or Your gospel to proclaim.

May I grow in grace and knowledge of You
from whatever situation that I go through.

Standing before every temptation
as a light unto this perverse nation.

And may difficulty not compromise
my faith in You, where I fix my eyes.

Go before me, go in me, go with me today.
In Jesus name, I humbly pray

What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!
